Fourth of July – The ultimate guide for BBQing with your Dogs!

Happy 4th of July!  We are so excited to celebrate the Holiday.  This blog is going to serve as a guide for making the most out of the Holiday weekend with your pets!  Dogs are always a hit at BBQs and I’m sure they love them too!  Good smells, wide open spaces to run, and extra ear scratches!  Let’s start with food.

Beware of the chicken bones! They can be a major health hazard and can splinter easily.  Instead, opt for hot dogs, hamburgers, sweet potatoes, or blueberries.  You’re dog will love them all, in moderation of course. (Be sure to check with your Vet before feeding your dog anything out of the ordinary.)

Be sure to shield your dog from the bright sun!  Give your dog the necessary breaks in the shade so he or she doesn’t overheat.  Make sure there is ample grass at the BBQ, as pavement can be very, very hot and damaging to their paws.  Be sure to use De’Vora Paw Balm to keep those paws shining.  Our creamy wax balm provides the ultimate paw pad protection. Formulated from a blend of natural ingredients, it smooths and protects from the elements year-round. It is non-greasy and easy to apply.

Fireworks are a beautiful display of patriotism.  There are usually so many different shows to choose from!  We are here to tell you all about fireworks and dogs because unfortunately, dogs don’t love fireworks as much as humans do.  The loud booms and flashing lights can scare your dog into a panic.  Did you know more pets run away on the Fourth of July than any other day of the year?  If your dog is going to be outside, please be sure he or she is microchipped!  The best decision would be to keep your pup indoors and secure for the fireworks show.  Check out Animal Essentials® Tranquility Blend Herbal Formula for Cats & Dogs on Devora.us.  It is an alcohol-free, sweet tasting glycerin herbal tincture designed to safely calm animals during acute episodes of anxiety without diminishing alertness. Especially helpful during thunderstorms, fireworks, and travel.

We, at De’Vora, hope you have a fantastic Holiday surrounded by Family, Friends, and furry friends!
